By entering the following at the top of the relevant .spt file (ie. in inc/app/sitemailer/html/templates for SiteMailer 1, done via the GUI in SiteMailer2):

</head>

Your customers get the ability to add images and links via the XedEditor without worrying about making them absolute. You can also link to your web site stylesheet in there, to give the full effect of your site look and feel in your outgoing emails.
